Carrie Wilson is the president of Optigal Consulting and has over 20 years in the optical industry. During this time she has worked in many diverse roles, from dispensing to manufacturing and from private practice to corporate optical. She’s a member of the Optical Women’s Association, Opticians Association of America, ANSI and its Lens Technical Committee, the International Standards Organization, and a board member of the Optical Heritage Museum. She is a professor of optical science and enjoys teaching at all levels. She can be reached via her website, optigalconsulting.com, on Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Emily Muir is an Essilor Brand Specialist in Illinois and Wisconsin. Her role focuses on educating and developing independent optical’s staff with regard to their premium brand knowledge and selling skills. She’s been an optical professional for 5 years. Within this time, she’s spent time representing Essilor’s premium brands as well as their lab network. She most recently became ABO certified in 2022. Emily has a bachelor’s degree in Retail Merchandising with a minor in Business Management. She spent the first 10 years of her career in fashion gaining experience in store management, visual merchandising, and sales representation.
Sherrie Rogerson is a seasoned optical veteran with 36 years of experience in various aspects of the industry including practice operations, optical retail design, product management, strategic marketing, franchising, retail and wholesale sales, sales development, managed care and education.
Sherrie started her career with a regional optometric chain where she spent 21 years in leadership roles, lastly as VP of Retail Sales and Franchise Services. In addition, she has 8 years of experience in key account leadership in the wholesale frame arena. Within the past few years, Sherrie launched Optical Excellence Consulting (OEC) designed to offer consulting services in education and mentoring to independent and retail optometry. During the past 3 years, through OEC, she worked with VSP Global assisting in the design and launch of two OD/Staff facing programs, and with I-Deal Optics in maximizing strategic accounts. Sherrie currently is the Training and Development Manager for Essilor/Luxottica.
Sherrie is past President of the Optical Women’s Association and was a board member for 7 years.
In 2003, she was awarded recognition by Jobson Publishing as one of the Most Influential Woman in Optical. In 2014, Sherrie was awarded the Pleiades Award from the Optical Women’s Association which honors an individual who has shown exceptional support in advancing the leadership role of women in the optical industry.
Sherrie is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in Biology/Science Education. Sherrie currently lives in Greenville, NC.
